MISSION STATEMENT

We believe that the arts...

	are a vital component to the development of all students.
	are essential for a comprehensive integrated curriculum.
	promote lifelong skills including critical thinking, self-discipline, team work and creative problem solving.
	provide students with experiences and skills that promote individual creative expression, appreciation, cultural awareness and aesthetic judgment.

Critics may call it busywork - a waste of precious learning time- but experts agree that art and music education helps students perform better in other subjects.

What do watercolors and sing-alongs have to do with math and reading comprehension? Studies show that art helps kids develop problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
