Spelling words are collected throughout the week on each and every assignment turned in to Mrs. Cummins. If words are misspelled, they are highlighted to call them to your attention. You will see them next week on your spelling list.

Students who are careful and check the accuracy of their spelling on their assignments will have few or no spelling words for the week Student who are in a hurry and don't check their spelling will have more words to work with during the course of the week.

Misspelled words do not reduce your grade in any other subject except spelling.

On Monday, you will receive two spelling lists. One to tape on your desk for work at school. One to tape in your homework book for your work at home.

During the course of the week, your are to complete 3 of the assignments listed below with your spelling words. These assignments need to be done by Friday morning.

Your assignments will be reviewed and you will be given a spelling test on these words. Any words misspelled on this test will be seen again on next week's list.

Your spelling grade depends on how careful you are with your spelling throughout the week.

SPELLING ASSIGNMENT CHOICES Choose any THREE assignments for this weeks spelling words. Click on the assignment title to get the worksheet. Print it out.

*Four times each*	Write each word four times - twice in print and twice in cursive.	Rumplestilskin, Rumplestilskin, Rumplestilskin, Rumplestilskin,
*Scrabble*	(For 5 or more words only) Write each spelling word and intersect common letters like you do when you play scrabble.
*Stamp*	Use the stamp set and stamp pad to write each spelling word.
*Values*	Write the value of each spelling word: A=$1, B=$2, C=$3, etc.
*Stencils*	Write each spelling word using the stencils.
*Word shapes* (If you have 9 or less words, you only need to print the first page of this assignment)	Show the shape of the letters in your spelling words – tall letters, short letters, below ground letters.
*Guide words*	Look up each of your words in the dictionary. Write the guide words found at the top of each page.
*ABC order*	(For 5 or more words) -Write your spelling words in alphabetical order.
*Syllables*	Write your spelling words by syllables. If you aren’t’ sure where a word divides, use a dictionary.	al-li-ga-tor
*Code Words*	Write your words using the code at the top of the page.
*Telephone words*	Write the numbers you'd have to text in order to write each of your spelling words.
*Tri-color words*	Write each of your words in three different colors.
