Email From HomeThere are two ways to get CVS email at home. Outlook Web Access:To access your school email at home using a light-weight web page version of our email system, connect to the Internet using Internet Explorer (IE) and go to: http://email.cvs.k12.mi.us/Note that there is no "www" or ".com" in this address. It won't work with "www"! Once you get to this web page correctly, add it to your favorites menu so you don't have to monkey around trying to find it every time. A window opens that prompts you for your login and password. Enter the login name you use at school which is probably your first initial and last name. Enter your login name and password as you do at school when you log in. Next you see a web page that resembles your Outlook inbox. If you hover your mouse over a button, you can get a clue as to the function of the button. Use this web page as you do Outlook, but keep in mind that it really is just a web page facsimile of Outlook. For example, the emails you have read display as new until you hit your browser's "reload" button (F5). Citrix Remote Access SystemOur Remote Access system gives you much more robust access to our network. Not only can you launch full-featured Outlook itself, you can also use Microsoft Office products, other district software, and access network resources like your home directory. But you must install Citrix client software and some home computers have security and software issues. The help desk cannot service home computers, so users are sort of on their own. See http://www.cvs.k12.mi.us/tiz/help.htm#Remote for directions and links. revised 12/01/2010 |
