What's new (10/20/08)
TTI has been ended for years now, but people ask now about throwing their TTI
computer away. The district's position, same as ever, is to have as little to do
with TTI as possible. But we should all take care to dispose of electronics
responsibly in order to protect the environment. Computer displays contain
mercury so take care. Also, you should take steps to ensure that none of your
personal data remains on the hard drive.
Here are some ideas.

What's New (5/9):
- After schools submitted their lists at the end of March, our application was submitted to the state in April. After processing, the state scheduled us to be reimbursed in May. The May state aid payment will arrive around May 20, at which time we will purchase the technology. For your information, Chippewa Valley Schools has 568 TTI eligible teachers, 506 of whom completed all tasks and
certified for TTI. Thus, the state will send us an additional $ 607,200.00 in May to purchase the TTI computers from Dell and assorted alternative technologies from other vendors.
- Remaining eligible teachers have until May 25 to turn in the required materials to their building administration. This will be the final opportunity to participate. Teachers submitting TTI materials by May 25 can expect to receive their equipment after summer vacation.
- Michigan's TTI program includes not just a computer, software, and Internet access for participants, but online training, too. The new training site is up and going. Click here to check out the new Information Training Technology Initiative web pages. You may join for free as a TTI participant and choose from dozens of online learning
experiences ranging from learning specific pieces of software to preparation for Microsoft certifications. Even nontechnical topics are address such as in the Leadership Development Series. TTI participants have one year to exploit to this wonderful, valuable opportunity, so don't miss out!
